While hiking the 10 acres of low and high ground, you may also encounter various signs of additional animal activity on the island, such as the nearby beaver hut, beaver-chewed driftwood, and deer and bear scat. Two-story windows of this modified A-Frame face east, where the dock and swimming area are most often calm, sheltered from westerly winds. Rough-hewn cedar inside and out, with an open floor plan. Camp Emily is located on a beautiful sand beach on the North Arm of Burntside Lake. It includes three buildings, the main house, guest cabin and sauna building. We can sleep up to 12 people. We offer the use of three canoes and can provide life jackets. Pontoon and fishing boat rentals are available. Includes a full kitchen with stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, big sink, microwave and large island for food prep and eating. There is also a large dinning table that seats 10 comfortably. Two full baths, three showers and a private sauna that has a shower. We ask that you provide your own bedding and bring your own bath towels. We do provide pillows. Washer and dryer, wifi, hardline phone and booster for verizon cell service. Swing set, sandbox and slide. Toys and children books for the kids. Stay on your own 2 1/4 acre private island on beautiful Burntside Lake near Ely, Minnesota. One of the country's top-ten most beautiful lakes, studded with approx. 125 islands and ringed with coves and bays. Watersports paradise: swimming, snorkeling, canoeing, boating and fishing. We worked hard last year to keep our cabin as clean and sanitized as possible because of COVID-19. We intend to keep up the same level of cleanliness this year.

Cedar Rock Lodge is a two bedroom family owned cabin located on a rock bluff over hanging Shagawa Lake. ( 1350 square feet living space). Newly Renovated features all include new appliances, furnace and central air, furniture and pillow top beds. During remodeling, a new four season porch was added and deck overlooking the islands. This custom cabin is a one of a kind gem tucked in the cedar trees offering a private escape. Built in the 1940’s by a local craftsman, this cabins exterior is a solid rock structure masoned from the Ely rock bed the cabin rests on. The interior features a coordinating stone fireplace. The original owner took pride in his craftsmanship and customized pine paneling, trim, window framing and built in cabinetry. In the spring of 2012, we began remodeling the historical cabin taking special care to preserve its beautiful bones and adding modern touches to enhance the look and feel. This cabins decor has a quaint feel that makes it a unique Northwood’s experience. Most guests tell use they find it charming. The cabin sleeps 4-5 people. The entire house has received new flooring and window treatments. The bathroom has a standard sized walk in tiled shower with sitting area. The kitchen is fully equipped with a microwave and new appliances. The Sun porch overlooks the lake and walks out to a patio/fire pit area that the original owner built into the rock cliffs in the yard. The cabin has his and her bikes, games, puzzles, books, dishes, binoculars, and flat screen with cable TV and dvd player. It is nicely appointed with the conveniences of home. You will have plenty of opportunities to view wildlife in the back yard. The cabin has many families of ducks that often reside in the tall grass along the shore, chipmunks that can be hand feed on the deck, and loons swimming in the Bay. Tucked in the woods on a rock bluff this location is about as secluded as you can get without a boat and still within minutes to local dining and amenities. Friday to Friday rentals only with minimum one week stay for Summer rentals. Saturday to Saturday starting in September. Winter rates available for snow enthusiasts or those who chose to snuggle in by the fire with a book. Minimum night stay in the winter is 3 nights Winter rates are available starting the third week in November through the last week in April. The price includes the cabin rental and a $100 cleaning fee. Due to privacy, it does not include snow removal during the stay unless substantial amounts of snow falls. Minor snow removal on sidewalks is the the responsibility of the guests. Shovels and snowblower is provided.

Loon Cabin at WIlderness Wind is a rustic log cabin that sleeps four people on the shore of Lake Armstrong in the areas of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area WIlderness. This quaint cabin has a kitchen with water cooler, refrigerator, and stove, a dining area, a bedroom with a queen bed and twin bunk beds, and hot showers, lavatory sinks, and latrine toilets in the nearby bath house. There is seating for guests around a fire pit on the shore of Lake Armstrong. Guests can swim, use the canoes or kayaks to paddle the lake, and use the resort as their base to to take day paddles into the Boundary Waters or hike or bike the nearby Masabi trail, visit local attractions, or shop for outdoor attire and gear and local art in nearby Ely.

Moose cabin is a rustic log cabin with a kitchen with a water cooler to be filled from outdoor spigot, a dining area, a bedroom with a queen size bed and two twin beds in an enclosed sleeping porch and a nearby bathhouse with hot showers, lavatory sinks, and latrine toilets. Lake Amnstrong is west of the cabins and therefore offers nightly sunset viewing at lakeside seating with a firepit for bonfires. Canoes and kayaks are available for use on the lake. A gravel swim beach near the ample lakeside seating provides fun family gathering. Nearby attractions include Wolf and Bear Centers, a mining museum, day canoe trips in the Boundary Waters, hiking or biking on nearby Mesabi Trail, and shopping for gear, apparel or local art in Ely.

Wolf Cabin is Wilderness Wind's smallest and most secluded cabin on the shore of Lake Armstrong. This adorable one bedroom cabin with kitchenette and kitchen table is at the end of the road and is quiet and private but has access to all the amenities of the Wilderness Wind resort. There is a trundle bed under the bed that rolls out to accommodate a 3rd person. The kitchen sink has a water cooler to be filled from outdoor spigot and a half refrigerator, a stove, and a microwave. Hot showers, lavatory sinks, and latrine toilets are a short walk though lovely birch woods, in the bathhouse. Down the grassy path in front is the swimming area with lakeside seating for sunset viewing, access to canoes and kayaks, and a fire pit for bonfires. This cabin is a special intimate place for a couple looking for a romantic getaway from which to base hiking and biking on the Mesabi Trail and day trip canoeing in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. Shopping for apparel, outdoor gear, and local art can be found in Ely as well as some really fine quality dining experiences. Want to get away alone and get in touch with nature and your quiet side? Situated up the hill in the woods from Lake Armstrong, the yurt offers privacy and seclusion with full lake access. There are two fully separate bedrooms with queen beds and a sleeping loft with twin beds A huge dining table offers space for wonderful meals and card & board games, projects and crafts. A wood stove can provide ample heat for those cold spring or fall evenings or the dead of winter. A wonderful site for a quilting gathering or a yoga retreat. A deck offers a view of the lake and slivers of sunset light thru the trees. Yurt guests have full lake privileges including use of canoes, kayaks, the lakeshore swimming and seating area, the lakeshore firepit for bonfires. There is a Chickadee gathering space down by the lake for meetings, sing alongs, exercise classes, sewing groups, group gatherings that can be rented additionally (or used freely if not already in use by a group). It has tables and chairs and awesome views in all directions of the lake and the surrounding woods. The yurt is large enough to sleep six on beds. There is one parking space up the hill from the yurt on Bradach rd. Additional parking available down the access road near the cabins. It it is also warm and intimate enough to be comfortable for a couple of couples, as a romantic luxury but rustic getaway for a honeymoon or anniversary couple, or even for a single person who wants to experience the respite and unearthly glow of a canvas yurt and its geometric structure as the light changes with the time of day and the weather. Nestled between 2 lakes and 3 acres of Northern Woods, this warm and cozy log cabin is the place to be. Imagine cross country skiing on the many trails including the amazing Bears Head State Park just 4 miles away. After a day playing in the unfettered wilderness,coming home to a crock pot full of home made beef stew. Spend some down time in the large sauna and retire with a glass of wine by the gas fireplace watching a movie.. The cabin has 2 bedrooms, king bed in the loft, and queen in the walk out level. You do need to go outside to go down to the walk out level. It may be an inconvenience to some but to others it gives lots of separate space. While we are located in the Great Northwoods we are only a short drive to town. Ely has been called the 'coolest small town in America'. It features many quaint shops and restaurants. If you run out of supplies there are 2 full service grocery stores in town as well as several places for sporting equipment, bait and the like. The area offers many places to boat, hike and fish as well as interesting attractions like the Soudan Mine. The North American Bear Center and International Wolf Center are both located right outside opposite ends of town.

Welcome to Brother Bear Lodge located on White Iron Lake outside Ely, MN. Our home features 4 bedrooms, 2 full baths, air conditioning, 2 fireplaces, a sauna and wireless internet service. Brother Bear can comfortably accommodate two families and we have sleeping spaces for 12. Bedroom set up is as follows: master (1 queen); bedroom 2 with bunk bed (full and twin) and additional twin; bedroom 3 with bunk bed (full and twin) with additional twin; and bedroom 4 full and twin beds. Our cabin is the original outfitting building used by White Iron Beach Resort. The resort was founded in 1917 making it one of the earliest resorts in the wilderness area. As a guest at our cabin you have full use of the resort and all of the amenities it has to offer (more on that later!). While the resort is almost 100 years old our cabin is virtually brand new. The original outfitters building has been transformed into a year round lake home. It is fully furnished with all new everything! We have a gas fireplace, air conditioning, wireless service, a very large deck, great room with large dining table and an additional family room with HD TV, satellite service and an additional fireplace. We have also recently added a three season porch for bug free relaxation overlooking the lake. We have a fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher and microwave. The wood paneling that surrounds you was harvested from the blow down of the great storm of 2001. All on a single level for those who don't like steps (you will need to climb some steps to get into the cabin). A full laundry room is located in the heated garage. Outdoors, the seasonal heated, enclosed in-ground pool is connected by a cedar walkway and outdoor deck. The Pool is currently closed until 5/1/2021. The lot is stepped but level and easy to get around. The master bedroom has its own private Jacuzzi tub and full bath. This deck includes a picnic table for six, a round table for six with an umbrella, a tete-a-tete chair, a gas grill and a charcoal grill. The deck is a perfect place for a game of bean-bags or mini ping-pong(both included) or just a great place to watch the evening sunset. The main level of the cabin features an open floor plan with tasteful north woods decor, vaulted ceilings, knotty-pine, custom log furniture, hardwood floors, two master bedrooms, full bathroom, the main kitchen, dining room and living room. Each of the master bedrooms is well appointed with either a queen-sized or full-sized bed, luxurious high thread-count sheets, comfortable mattresses, bedding and ceiling fans. The well-stocked modern chef's kitchen has a large center island with three bar stools, garbage disposal, dishwasher, great pans and all of the utensils, appliances and dishware that you would hope for and expect. The lakeside living room is well-appointed with high end leather furniture (a double chez U-shaped couch and two huge leather chairs with ottomans), a custom upholstered bench by the window and a game table with antler chandelier perfect for an afternoon puzzle. The entertainment center has a television with satellite cable, DVD player, CD player and over 80 VHS tapes and DVD's for you to enjoy. A gorgeous antler chandelier hangs above the formal log dining table which will more than comfortably seat all those in your party. Downstairs you will find rooms filled with sunlight! The walk-out lower level has two sliding doors which lead directly to the pathway down to the lake. You will find another fully-stocked kitchen, 2 more bedrooms, a cozy family room, another full bath, laundry room and a wonderful and cozy cedar-lined sauna. The family room overlooks the lake and includes a sleeper sofa, a table for four, wireless internet (bring your laptop), a log desk and a Wii console complete with Wii games. The first of the bedrooms has a queen bed, two closets, a television with satellite cable and a sliding door. The other lower level bedroom has a queen-sized bed, look-out windows, a modern sink and two closets. All of the linens on the hand-made log beds are extremely high-quality and comfortable throughout the property. Rest assured that much effort has gone into ensuring that each of the bedrooms is special in its own way! A short walk down the landscaped pathway with gradual, wide steps takes you to the lake shore. Our private dock is perfect for tying up your motorized watercraft that you bring or for one that you rent from the local lodge. If you decide not to bring your boat or to rent one, we have included the use of our two aluminum canoes, fishing kayak for one and our kayak for two at no additional charge. The neighborhood boat access is just down the road from our home but is not visible from our property. White Iron is 3,429 acres and is part of a chain of lakes that include Garden Lake, Farm Lake and South Farm Lake, all of which are motorized lakes. The White Iron Chain of Lakes is a locals' favorite with a good population of Walleye, Northern Pike, Smallmouth Bass, Rock Bass, Bluegill and Black Crappie providing great fishing for anglers of all ages! White Iron Lake is in Ecological Lake Class 7, which consists of 41 lakes in northeast Minnesota that are very large, have irregular shoreline shapes, and have very soft (unmineralized) water.The Kawishiwi and Bear Island rivers flow through it and the inlets make for popular fishing spots. This remote northern Minnesota cabin is located close to the BWCA in a road-less area not far from our Homestead here at White Iron Lake. In 1999 we bought this wilderness property. No roads. No electricity. No Traffic. No Telephones. Our idea was to have a remote place to escape to yet we can access from our Homestead either by water in the summer season or by ice in the winter season. This property is surrounded by an extensive marsh wildlife area and by Federal land. This assures us of great privacy. This has been a very rewarding experience for our family as we have done all of the construction process ourselves. We will help transport your gear and supplies to the cabin and back. The Cabin is 24' x 20' with a loft room. Main floor has a bedroom, kitchen and living room. There is a porch off the living room. There are lots of windows which provides lots of natural light and great outdoor viewing. The inside of the cabin is knotty pine paneling and flooring. There is a woodstove for heating. Propane gas lights. Propane gas stove and refrigerator for cooking. We also have a separate sauna building for your bathing enjoyment.

The cabin has no indoor plumbing or electricity, but is constructed for comfortable summer and winter time use. The cabin has cell phone capability.
